This site is a source of population data and community health information for the Rio Grande Valley region, including Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr and Willacy Counties in Texas. We invite planners, policy makers, and community members to use the site as a tool for community assessment, strategic planning, and identifying best practices for improvement, collaboration, and advocacy. The goal of Unidos Contra Diabetes is to reduce the number of new cases of type II diabetes, resulting in a 10 percent reduction in the prevalence of diabetes by 2030.
